It's always interesting for us to see the brands in action - from design to sales and everything in between there's no shortage of inspiration to be found in contemporary fashion. Thankfully a couple of Brand Assembly dwellers made some time in their schedule to share a little bit more about their brand and what they're assembling daily. WHAT DO YOU ASSEMBLE DAILY?
The VEDA woman seeks knowledge and authenticity in all areas of her life and she dresses to reflect her lifestyle.
HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE CONTEMPORARY FASHION AND WHAT EXCITES YOU THE MOST ABOUT THIS MARKET?
Contemporary fashion is about interpreting trends in an accessible way. I love seeing how other designers interpret each new season and I also love seeing what buyers respond to at each market.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A PART OF THE BRAND ASSEMBLY COMMUNITY?
I love getting to work alongside other amazing brands and meeting new buyers at the show.

WHAT DO YOU ASSEMBLE DAILY?
I'm always assembling a collection for each season, and there is so much that goes into it. I am learning to be a better editor. It's funny because you're asking what I am building upon and I'm telling you I am taking things away. I have a lot of ideas, and I'm always working to pinpoint the best ones and really build upon those.
HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE CONTEMPORARY FASHION AND WHAT EXCITES YOU THE MOST ABOUT THIS MARKET?
I think of Samantha Pleet as a Ready to Wear line with a contemporary price point. We are not driven by the market as our customers always expect something new and very unique from Samantha Pleet. It's hard for me to speak for any other lines as we beat to our own drum.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A PART OF THE BRAND ASSEMBLY COMMUNITY?
Its really a beautiful show, and there are some really amazing lines here. Some, I have been a fan of for so long and others I am just discovering.
