The Assemblist Letter 32 - Hillary's Guide To Sedona

I RECENTLY VISITED SEDONA AND IT WAS MY FIRST SOLO VACATION EVER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! IT’S JUST NICE TO BE WITH YOUR THOUGHTS SOMETIMES.

Being that I am an outdoorsy person (I don’t just want to sit out on the beach!) I wanted to go somewhere that allowed me to do certain activities but also allowed for opportunities to take in the scenery and enjoy the moment. I picked Sedona because I had been to Arizona a lot. I had driven through the area and always remember heavily gravitating towards it.

For starters, the hotel that I stayed at was gorgeous. While it’s very desert-like in Sedona, there are some pockets that have more creeks and rivers which is where the hotel happened to be located. It was very calming and I took advantage of the spa treatments! When it comes to style, I’ve always been into Southwestern fashion and jewelry, so I also went to Garlands where I bought some turquoise and silver jewelry which was fun too.

Speaking of which, for all style lovers who are looking to visit Sedona I recommend packing pieces from our designers including Carleen (for the more denim-heavy looks!) and Morgan Carper, who as a huge Southwestern influence in her pieces. She was even able to share some recommendations of what to check out while I was there. Today I’m excited to share some of the highlights! Enjoy and let us know in the comments where you think the Brand Assembly team should head next…

"Hiking is one thing I did and definitely recommend. Sedona was formed from the ground up, I initially thought a water source had formed everything - but it was just the wind and rain that had eroded the landscape to be more smooth. There are different formations that you can climb and hike which is always fun."

"Sedona is a very spiritual place. So for these hikes there are a group of vortexes where there is heightened spiritual energy - I went to three of them. All have different levels of energy, some are heightened and some are lower. One sight to see in particular is The Chapel of the Holy Cross. It has a very modern aesthetic and looks like it’s built right into the rock! One other place that I hiked is Cathedral Rock which is actually the most photographed place in Arizona."

"I also did the Pink Jeep Tour which is one of the more touristy things to do! They have tours in other areas like the Grand Canyon and Scottsdale - it’s a huge operation. I went by myself, and it was great people watching. They also offer four-wheeling which I did at sunset and it was gorgeous! One of the best things, is that they bring you to places to hike that are exclusive to Pink Jeep."
