Finding time to relax and rejuvenate in your daily life is hard enough, but finding time during market can seem downright impossible. Nearly 80% of all workers in the United States report that they feel stressed daily in the workplace, which is far too high in our opinion! So, to celebrate almost reaching the midway point for the S/S '18 season, we've put together a list of our favorite quick, easy, and affordable ways to beat stress. Here's to a successful season!

1. BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUT.

Deep breathing is proven to help combat anxiety, depression, and a myriad of other not so fun things that weigh us down. Try listening to some white noise on YouTube while inhaling your favorite essential oil. Or, if you need something a little more active, try an alternate breathing technique to center and energize yourself!

2. GET OUTSIDE

Leaving the booth and the ball and chain that is your inbox for a few minutes every day is essential to clear your head and find your focus again! Whether it's taking a brisk walk around your neighborhood or fitting in a quick outdoor yoga class, fresh air and a change of scenery are essential to staying calm and productive during market! Plus, it's absolutely free.

3. TRY SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE

According to neuroscientist David Eagleman, the key to making free time feel longer is to create positive, lasting memories. The trick to doing this? Trying something new! Force yourself out of the office and into a new environment, especially when you're on the road for market.

4. VISUALIZE YOURSELF ON A BEACH (AND THROW IN A MARGARITA)

Visualization exercises might sound a bit crunchy granola to you, but according to recent studies it's no joke. This technique is ideal for those times when you can't physically leave your work space, but need to escape for a few moments. Making yourself as comfortable as possible and visualizing a peaceful scene lowers your heart rate and distracts your mind from stressors, making you biologically and mentally calmer. Who knew?

5. TALK TO A REAL LIVE PERSON ABOUT ANYTHING BUT BUSINESS

During market it seems like all we do is talk all day, every day. Whether it's in person, on the phone, or over email we're always communicating with someone. Talking is actually healthy and has been clinically proven to calm stress, but our minds need separation between professional and personal conversation. For a quick break, call up a friend or go to a business-free lunch with a co-worker!
