Members of The Brand Assembly Community Share Their Design Resolutions

THE START OF A NEW YEAR ALWAYS INSTILLS A SENSE OF ENDLESS POSSIBILITY.

So in the spirit of embracing new year’s resolutions we wanted to catch up with a few people in our community to explore new ideas they want to apply to their creative endeavors. We spoke with contemporary fashion designer Nikki Chasin and our friend, illustrator and collaborator Justin Teodoro who both shared a little sneak peek of what they're working on and how they plan to cultivate professional success and personal fulfillment 2016.

"I've attached the my FW16 mood-board here for you. My 2016 design resolution is to customize more fabrics so that they are completely exclusive to the line. "I've never been the best with new year's resolutions - I've always had that "see what unfolds" ethos. But I've learned over the years that even though that's my nature, it's important to set directions I'd like to see for myself in the new year. After all, it's a clean slate and why not try to reach for what you would like to reach for. Something that I have been thinking of for awhile is to make sure to just keep drawing and making art for myself. I'm lucky that with my day to day job I get to draw and create everyday but I do admit that sometimes with projects and deadlines I lose track and forget the joy of what I am doing. So for 2016 I want to make sure to take those moments to just create art for fun and for the sake of creating. If there is a goal of mine for 2016 it would just be that: to remember to be creative for me. These pages from my sketchbook might not look like much but they're doodles and drawings I did one night before new year. I just hung out in bed with some books and drew - no pressure about it. That is something I haven't done in awhile and it was nice to just do that. I'd love to have a sketchbook full of more of these personal drawings for 2016." - Justin Teodoro
