Valerie Hirsch of Voyager

When Valerie Hirsch, co-owner of Voyager, finds something great for the store, she usually screams and falls to the ground. That’s the kind of enthusiasm we like to see.

Voyager started in San Francisco’s Mission District and has since expanded to a second location in Los Angeles, where Valerie is based. The store carries women’s and men’s clothes as well as homewares. Previously, Valerie had SF’s Revolver, an eclectic boutique, which ended up closing in order to focus on Voyager. The store stocks a range of contemporary brands, as well as their in-house collection, Equals Studio. For this line, Valerie works with an organization in Peru that provides widowed mothers with the opportunity to learn weaving skills, helping to build community through production. The goal for Voyager is to create a whole experience through aesthetics, art, design, and community, in addition to the clothes and other products.
