Sometimes a place can define a person, and through passion, affection, and hard work, that person can leave a permanent mark on that place. Ravid Levy has seen Downtown Los Angeles through ups and downs and become a fixture of the area. She’s always advocating for why the neighborhood is her favorite in LA.
Ravid is the co-founder and producer of Under Construction LA, a creative agency developed to promote lesser-known artists and brands in the fashion, music, and art circles of LA. Ravid’s professional background is in fashion, but she found that producing creative concepts and events - and cultivating authentic communities through these projects - was where her passion led her. In addition to working with artists and designing a line of clothing made from deadstock and natural materials, Under Construction produces 9th & Broadway, a monthly outdoor market at the intersection of 9th Street and Broadway in downtown LA. With permanent local businesses supporting the weekend pop-up vendors, Ravid has created a real sense of interconnection in DTLA’s retail scene through the markets and adjacent events.
A COMMON PLACE: Ravid and her community block are anything but ordinary.
